Ministry of Development and IBRD agree on additional funding for the restoration of Ukraine’s ports and logistics

Ukraine and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development have discussed the restructuring of the RELINC project and the attraction of $70 million for the modernization of the transport network, in particular port and railway infrastructure.

This was reported by the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.

During a working meeting of the Ministry of Development with representatives of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) of the World Bank Group, the parties discussed the implementation of key projects for the restoration of transport logistics – RELINC (“Restoration of Critical Logistics Infrastructure and Network Connectivity”) and DRIVE (“Creating Resilient Infrastructure in Fragile Environments in Ukraine”).

“Each stage, especially regarding the consideration of documentation, must have clear and realistic deadlines in order to avoid delays and guarantee the quality of the final result,” – emphasized Deputy Minister for Development Maryna Denysiuk.

The main attention was paid to the restoration of port infrastructure. Within the framework of the RELINC project, which covers ports, railways and road infrastructure, most contracts for the supply of equipment have already been concluded or are being finalized.

The parties also discussed the approval of the application for additional Phase 3 financing in the amount of 70 million USD through the Ukraine Investment Framework (UIF) mechanism and the status of raising funds. The Ministry of Development and Reform also requested to consider the possibility of allocating additional grant funding for the procurement of protection for railway and port facilities.
