More than 2.4 million tons of grain have been transported by railway since the beginning of February


Over 2.4 million tons of agricultural products were transported by railway for export on February 21.

This became known during a meeting of representatives of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” and agricultural market participants on February 22, writes Rail.insider.

Thus, the increase compared to the same period in January is 179.2 thousand tons.

The lion’s share of grain cargo went to ports — 82%, or 2.14 million tons. Compared to the same period in January, the indicator increased by 190,000 tons.

At the same time, the volume of transportation in the direction of western border crossings decreased by 10,000 tons and currently amounts to 411,000 tons.

As previously reported by USM, in December 2023, UZ reached a record unloading of 3.8 million tons for Black Sea ports since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
