Naftogaz imported American LNG for the first time through the German terminal on Rügen

After regasification in Germany, the fuel is transported via Poland to Ukraine.
Naftogaz of Ukraine, together with TotalEnergies, organized the first LNG supply from the USA through the German Deutsche ReGas terminal in the Baltic Sea. This was written by Serhiy Koretsky, Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine.
In February, this resource already became available in the Ukrainian gas transportation system. Koretsky emphasized that the new route is not only an expansion of the geography of supplies, but also an additional element of energy stability in the face of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.
He also called this winter one of the most difficult due to shelling of gas infrastructure and severe frosts, adding that this agreement should be the first step towards a long-term partnership.
Deutsche ReGas emphasized that the first-ever delivery of regasified LNG from Germany to Ukraine was possible thanks to the coordination of partners. Deutsche ReGas CEO Ingo Wagner noted that the company is proud to participate in the project and noted that their terminal is the only LNG terminal in Germany that is financed and operated by private companies and makes a direct contribution to Ukraine’s energy security.
Also, as USM reported, in March, Ukraine will begin importing American LNG from a Greek terminal.
