NATO naval exercises will take place in the Black Sea and the Danube


Naval exercises of the North Atlantic Alliance will take place in Romania, in which 13 NATO member countries will take part.

From April 8 to 21, NATO naval exercises Sea Shield 24 will take place in Romania, the Romanian Ministry of Defense announced.

Bulgaria, Romania, Georgia, Poland, Moldova, Italy, Greece, the Netherlands, Portugal, France, Turkey, the USA and Great Britain will take part in the exercises.

Training will take place on the Black Sea and the Danube River. More than 2,200 military personnel and 135 units of military equipment will be involved in the exercises.

The training scenario will include search and rescue operations, combating illegal activities on the river and sea, providing assistance to ships in distress, and ensuring the safety of critical infrastructure.

For the first time, multinational Sea Shield exercises were held in 2015. This is the most difficult event of the Romanian Navy.
