New yacht club will appear in Mykolaiv
A new yacht club will be created in Mykolaiv as part of the city program for the development of small shipping.
On Friday, November 26th, a meeting with local yachtsmen took place in the Mykolaiv City Council. The city authorities were represented by the First Deputy Mayor Vitalii Lukov and the Director of the Department of Economic Development Tetiana Shulichenko, according to the Information Support Division of the Department of the Mayor.
During the discussion, the yachtsmen shared their plans, among which is the creation of a city base to provide services to yachtsmen. This should give a powerful impetus to the development of small shipping. Yachtsmen offered several options for solving the problem.
The first involves the creation of a specialized utility company. In addition, the possibility of founding a cruising yacht club is being considered. There are other proposals as well, but they do not provide answers to the full range of questions.
The executive committee of the city council preliminarily agreed on a program for the development of rivers and small shipping. The goal of the program is the formation of modern coastal infrastructure in Mykolaiv and the development of industrial potential in the construction and repair of small vessels. In addition, they plan to improve the ecological state of the city’s rivers, as well as attract investments and activate the market for services in the field of inland water transport. It is noted that not a single city of Ukraine has yet approved such documents.
The city authorities are ready to provide organizational support for the creation of a new yacht club in Mykolaiv. Next, yachtsmen should form an initiative group and determine a plan of priority actions.
