North Korea received thousands of aid containers from Russia
North Korea received thousands of aid containers from Russia in exchange for containers with ammunition for the war in Ukraine.
Since last year, North Korea has sent about 7,000 containers of ammunition and other military equipment to the Russian Federation, SkyNews reports.
South Korean Defense Minister Shin Won-sik made the announcement at a press conference hours after the South Korean military said North Korea had fired short-range ballistic missiles into the sea.
The US and South Korea have previously accused North Korea of sending missiles and other military aid to Russia during the war, a charge Moscow and Pyongyang deny.
Shin Won-sik also said that North Korea initially relied on ship shipments, but later decided to increase the use of its railways for cross-border arms shipments.
Pyongyang is believed to have received more than 9,000 containers of aid in exchange for military support.
Recently, USM wrote that the DPRK resumed the supply of weapons to the Russian Federation by sea.
