Oil exports by rail increased by 52% in August

In August, 89.3 thousand tons of oil were exported by rail — 52% more than in the same period last year.
This was discussed during an online meeting of representatives of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia with agricultural market participants on August 27, reports RAIL.insider.
Deputy Director of the Department of Transportation Technology and Commercial Work of UZ Valeriy Tkachev noted that in the 25 days of August, 89.3 thousand tons of oil were exported by rail. This is 12.8% more than in July and 52% more than in the corresponding period last year.
72.7 thousand tons were transported in the direction of western border crossings. Another 16.6 thousand tons were exported in the direction of ports.
A similar situation is also observed with the export of meal and cake. In August, 133.3 thousand tons were transported – 1.3% more than in July. At the same time, the volume decreased by 8.6% compared to the corresponding period last year.
97.9 thousand tons were transported to the western border crossings, but only 35.4 thousand tons to the ports.
Earlier, USM reported that the transfer of grain by rail across the western borders has increased.
