Operational summary as of the morning, March 18 – General Staff

As for Friday morning, March 18, status, position and nature of the actions of the defense forces did not change significantly during the day. The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to inflict crushing blows on enemy groups that are trying to hold on to previously taken lines, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
So, within a day, the Ukrainian army partially destroyed and stopped the proceeding into Ukraine of units of the 437th training regiment and the 26th tank regiment of the russian federation.
Aviation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine inflicted powerful blows on columns of enemy military equipment. Anti-aircraft gunners and fighter aircraft hit 7 Russian aircraft, a helicopter, three drones and three cruise missiles.
It is reported that the invaders have significantly exhausted their human resources, in connection with which the Russian command is conducting covert mobilization, and also attracts foreign mercenaries. At the same time, desertion or refusal to participate in battles is often recorded in the troops of the invaders.
At the same time, in the temporarily occupied territories, Russians are trying to create a demonstrative positive image for themselves by distributing food to the local population. At the same time, the enemy is looking for and detaining Ukrainian activists, ATO participants and their families.

The enemy did not conduct active offensive operations in the Polessky direction, the main efforts of the invaders were concentrated on holding the previously occupied lines and preparing for a possible attack on Kyiv. At the same time, the loss of the enemy, the low morale of the rank and the sergeants, as well as the lack of experienced commanders of tactical units make it impossible to resume offensive operations in the near future.
In the Seversky direction, the enemy is trying to hold on to certain lines, restore the combat capability of units and replenish supplies. The occupiers continue a partial blockade of the city of Chernihiv and shell the city with artillery.
In the area of the city of Brovary, the invaders periodically fire at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the Slobozhansky direction, the invaders are trying to replenish stocks of ammunition, fuel and lubricants.
In the direction of the city of Izyum, the enemy is trying to resume the offensive.
In the Lugansk and Donetsk directions, the main efforts of the enemy concentrated on preparing for an offensive on Severodonetsk and the encirclement of Mariupol.
In the South Bug direction, the enemy did not take active actions. Moved to the defensive. Tried to regroup and resupply.
The occupiers are not leaving their attempts to identify and destroy the air defense system along the Black Sea coast. In the Black Sea, the enemy is trying to carry out demonstration actions
