Poland will allow Ukraine to transport grain in non-specialized wagons
The Polish railway company PKP LHS cancels the ban on the transportation of grain cargoes in cement trucks, mineral trucks and semi-wagons.
“PKP LHS LLC informs about the cancellation of convention No. 22 dated 02.11.2022, which concerns GNV 10, GNV 12, GNV 14 (harmonized cargo nomenclature) for food purposes in cement wagons (93), mineral wagons (92), semi-wagons (60 ) with an appointment to all stations,” the company’s letter to Ukrzaliznytsia informs.
As noted, the changes take effect from the moment of receipt, that is, from November 18.
Earlier, more than 500 Ukrainian wagons were stuck on the border with Poland due to complaints from sanitary services. Of these, every tenth ton of grain was transported in unauthorized wagons.
We will remind you that since the beginning of the russian invasion in February, Ukraine has transported more than 1.5 million tons of grain through Poland.
