Pontoon bridge near the border of Ukraine with Belarus disappeared

Belarusians dismantled a pontoon bridge over the Prypiat River 4 miles from the Ukrainian border. It was installed in a zone not specified in the exercise plan of Belarus and the Russian Federation.

The bridge was installed overnight on Tuesday, February 15th. But today, February 18th, the bridge is no longer visible on satellite images, CNN reports.

Initially, it was not clear why the bridge was installed 4 miles from the border with Ukraine. This is the territory of the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone – the Polessky State Radiation and Ecological Reserve.

Belarus and the Russian Federation are conducting joint operational exercises “Allied Resolve – 2022”. However, the reserve was not listed in the list of areas for the exercise.

The deployment of a pontoon-bridge park near the Ukrainian border was discovered by OSINT (open source intelligence) researchers.
