Port company Duisport leaves Belarus
The company of the largest river port in the world, Duisport (Duisburger Hafen AG), will close its representation in Belarus and will wake up its assets.
On Friday, Duisburger Hafen AG said that a number of directors, supervisors and shareholders, made such a decision because of the war in Ukraine, writes REUA with a request for information from the German Sueddeutsche Zeitung.
Duisport will get rid of a minority part (0.59%) of the Belarusian-Chinese development company of the Great Stone industrial and logistics park, and part of the CJCS Eurasian Rail Gateway (38.9%),as a confirmation of the operation of the terminal and the operation of the logistics complex. The representative office of the company in Minsk is already closed.
Duisport CEO Markus Bangen said that the company was critical of its activities there after the 2020 elections and now wants to send a “clear signal”.
