Risk factor: the tanker arrived at the port of Moldova from Novorossiysk

The tanker left the port of Novorossiysk, passed through the Sulynsk estuary and entered the port of Giurgiulesti.

Andrii Klymenko, the head of the Monitoring Group of the Institute of Black Sea Strategic Studies, said this.

According to him, the fact that the aggressor country does not have “direct access” to the territory of Moldova is often mentioned in the forecasts of Ukrainian and foreign experts regarding Russia’s influence on destabilizing the situation in Moldova.

At the same time, on June 28, the Turkish tanker Blue Chem (IMO: 9519614) left Novorossiysk and arrived on the Danube River at the Moldovan port of Giurgiulesti on July 2.

The ship was passing through the Sulynsk estuary. Part of the journey was along the Ukrainian section of the Danube near the port of Reni.

“It is worth recalling not only the predictions that in October the Russian Federation will try to create an anti-Maidan in Moldova, where presidential elections and a referendum on joining the EU will be held on October 20, 2024, but also the fact that the first special forces of the Russian Federation from the mainland with weapons got to Sevastopol on the eve of the beginning of the occupation in February 2014 precisely on a civilian ship – an old dry cargo ship,” emphasized Andriy Klymenko.

Blue Chem (IMO:9519614) is a tanker sailing under the flag of Panama. The ship was built in 2010. Deadweight — 7003 tons.
