Russia launched a missile strike on a civilian ship flying the flag of the Marshall Islands. This was reported by the Minister of Reconstruction, Infrastructure and Transport of Ukraine Mykola Kalashnyk.
The official stressed that targeted strikes on civilian port infrastructure and the merchant fleet are further evidence of Russia’s deliberate disregard for international law. Such attacks affect not only Ukraine, but also global shipping security and global supply chains.
Also, the day before, the Navy evacuated 17 Filipino sailors after a Russian attack on a civilian ship. The dry cargo ship Venturo was damaged and lost its course after the Russian strike. One civilian was killed.
