Russia increased oil exports through its ports
Since the beginning of January, sea exports of russian raw oil have grown in all directions.
Russia’s maritime exports through its main ports on the Baltic and Black seas, as well as on the Pacific coast, jumped by almost 590,000 b/d compared to December. First of all, exports increased due to the redirection to ports of russian barrels, which were previously delivered by pipeline to Germany and Poland, reports Energy Intelligence.
Both European countries have promised to stop buying russian barrels starting in 2023, but so far they have not stopped the supply.
The rerouting of flows from the Druzhba pipeline was a key factor in the sharp rise in russian shipping, with exports rising by 470,000 b/d and 40,000 b/d in the Baltic and Black Seas, respectively.
To the east, russian supplies to the Asia-Pacific region have increased both from the Pacific port of Kozmino and through a pipeline directly to China. This is due to the fact that Beijing is easing restrictions on Covid-19.
