Russian ship near Syria has leaking fuel tanks, — Defense Intelligence

One of the Russian ships waiting for permission from Syria to enter the port of Tartus has leaking fuel tanks.

Russia continues to transfer weapons and military equipment from Syria to Libya by air, the Defense Intelligence reported.

All military vehicles that are inoperable and require repair have been ordered to be burned by Russian soldiers.

The Russians have had problems evacuating military property by sea – permission for Russian ships to enter the port of Tartus is still missing. On January 9, Russian Rear Admiral Valery Varfolomeyev made another attempt to reach an agreement, but he was not allowed to negotiate.

The dry cargo ship Sparta and two large Russian landing ships Ivan Gren and Alexander Otrakovsky are in the outer roadstead of the port of Tartus. On the VDK “Alexander Otrakovsky” there were problems with the water desalination plant and the second and third fuel tanks began to leak.

As a reminder, Syria is not allowing ships to evacuate Russian military equipment.
