Russian vessels will not be allowed to enter EU ports

Since April 8, 2023, russian ships will not be accepted in the ports of the countries of the European Union.

New EU sanctions prohibit vessels certified by the russian Maritime Shipping Register from entering the ports and locks of EU member states.

Both russian and foreign vessels certified by “Rosmorregistr” are subject to the ban.

Yes, all certificates issued by the registry on behalf of an EU member state before October 7, 2022 must be canceled. The validity of the documents is suspended until April 8 of the following year by the relevant EU state.

States that have authorized “Rosmorregistr” to fully or partially carry out inspections and inspections of ships, as well as issue certificates, must withdraw these mandates by January 5, 2023.

Thus, the EU provides time for vessels to obtain a new certification.

Prior to the withdrawal of documents, EU member states should not allow “Rosmorregistr” to carry out reviews and inspections, approve or update documents.

The police or border guard of the state will check whether the vessel is certified by “Rosmorregistr” and will decide whether the vessel can be admitted to the inland sea for bunkering.
