Seasonal traffic restrictions for trucks introduced in Odesa region

This month, in the Odesa region, to preserve roads during the period of abnormal heat, seasonal restrictions for truck traffic are being introduced.

Seasonal traffic restrictions for heavy-duty vehicles in the Odesa region will come into effect from June 8, 2026, the Odesa Regional State Administration повідомили reported.

To preserve the road surface, trucks are prohibited from moving at air temperatures above +28°C. The ban applies to vehicles with an actual weight of more than 24 tons and an axle load of more than 7 tons.

The restrictions do not apply to vehicles used to eliminate the consequences of emergencies, as well as vehicles transporting dangerous, perishable goods, live animals and birds, military cargo, dual-use goods and/or property used for defense purposes, etc.

For this purpose, appropriate prohibitory road signs and information boards have been installed on public roads of state importance.

Drivers can wait out the hot period at temporary parking lots in the right-of-way of highways and near road service facilities, the Odesa Regional State Administration noted.

Earlier, USM reported that Ukrainian ports have processed 35 million tons of cargo since the beginning of the year.
