The number of vessels on the Danube continues to decrease

On Monday, June 1, about five vessels were recorded near the Sulina and Bystre canals, while about 25 vessels were heading to the ports of Great Odesa.
This was reported by Avalon Shipping Operations Manager Kateryna Kononenko.
According to her, as of the beginning of June, the number of vessels on the Danube is decreasing, while more and more free berths are appearing in the seaports of Ukraine.
“I hope this is only a temporary situation related to the season and the vacation period,” said Kateryna Kononenko.
The maximum safe draft for passage through the Sulina Canal is currently 7.01 m, for the Bystre Canal – 5.5 m. On the approach to Izmail in the area of the 44th mile, the maximum safe draft is 7.5 m.
