Shmyhal: almost 30 million tons were exported through the maritime corridor
Exports through the Ukrainian maritime corridor will reach the mark of 30 million tons in the near future.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a press conference.
According to him, the goal of the government is to reach stable indicators of the level of 2021 in sea transportation. To do this, it is necessary to protect the export routes by means of anti-aircraft defense and EW.
“The sea corridor is working. We will soon reach 30 million tons, which were sent already after Russia withdrew from the Grain Agreement,” said Shmyhal.

He also emphasized that it was possible to increase the capacity of the Danube port cluster. Freight turnover increased by almost 600% compared to 2021. In particular, they are considering the possibility of container transportation along the Danube.
“Our goal is to expand the export capacity of the Danube cluster from 33 million tons in 2023 to 35-40 million tons,” said the Prime Minister of Ukraine.
As previously reported by USM, in February, a record 8 million tons of cargo were exported through the maritime corridor.
