State stevedore Yuzhniy has signed a contract with Metinvest

Metinvest shall transship at least 1.2 million tons of cargo per month through the State Enterprise MTP “Yuzhniy”.

The parties has signed the contract on June 1^st.

“We are talking about the full utilization of the iron ore port handling facilities” the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure noted. Also, in terms of the contract, an unprecedented increase in the transshipment rate by 33% was agreed: from $ 4 to $ 5.3 per ton.

“Large contracts with the largest Ukrainian and international companies are what allows state ports to develop rapidly. We expect that there will be more of such a kind agreements, because for the state it means an increase in budget revenues, and for private companies – an increase in the quality of service,” said Minister of Infrastructure Alexander Kubrakov.
