Sunflower exports from Ukraine increased despite a decrease in processing
Despite the reduction in the amount of sunflower processing due to massive shelling, the export of the crop continues to grow.
The volume of sunflower processing in Ukraine has been decreasing for the second month in a row. In November, about 1 million tons of oil were processed (-11% until October), analysts of AI “APK-Inform” report.
In December, monthly processing may become even smaller as a result of repeated missile attacks and idleness of almost 37% of processing capacities in the first half of the month.
“At the same time, if in October the reduction took place against the background of uncertainty regarding the further work of large ports, then in November – due to permanent limits on electricity at enterprises and massive missile attack on critical infrastructure, which led to an almost complete blackout of electricity and the suspension of many factories,” – analysts note.
In total, in September-November, Ukrainian factories processed about 3.3 million tons of sunflower. This is almost a third of the total volume of processing for the season, which was forecast by the agency’s analysts — 10.3 million tons.
