Sweden to transfer ten coast guard boats to Ukraine

The boats will be given to the units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

Sweden will transfer 10 high-speed work boats to Ukraine for rescue operations on water. This is reported by Bloomberg.

The Swedish government announced that it will transfer the vessels in their current technical condition. The boats can be used for towing, transporting people and cargo, as well as performing demining tasks.

“Sweden supports Ukraine in many areas and continues to strengthen its maritime capabilities. Towing, demining and transport capabilities are important functions that can now be further improved,” said Swedish Minister of Civil Defense Carl-Oscar Bolin.

The transfer of the boats should strengthen the capabilities of Ukrainian rescuers to work on water bodies, in particular in areas where there is a risk of mine danger.

The day before, USM wrote that Dutch volunteers will transfer aquadrones to Ukraine for evacuation and delivery of cargo.
