This decision was made by the country’s president against the backdrop of food safety concerns.

The Egyptian government detained the gas carrier Claudia Gas, which was on its way to the Russian Federation. Earlier, the ship ran aground in the ecologically sensitive area of the Gulf of Aqaba.

The supply of agricultural products from Ukraine is planned for the period from May 20 to 30 this year.

Grain supplies from the Russian Federation to Egypt last year accounted for almost half of the total volume of trade between the countries.
