Black Sea wheat prices for Egypt have decreased


At the last GASC tender, the price of wheat of Black Sea origin decreased by 20-22 dollars per ton.

Egypt’s Food Procurement Agency (GASC) bought 470,000 tons of Black Sea wheat, ASAP Agri reported.

In particular, Egypt purchased 290,000 tons of grain for delivery on August 21-31 and 180,000 tons for delivery on September 1-10.

Grain of Bulgarian origin on C&F conditions turned out to be the cheapest at the tender. Egypt bought 50,000 tons of grain for August 21-31 delivery at $244 per ton, down $20.95 from a week ago.

The cost of 60,000 tons of Romanian wheat is $247.1 per ton on C&F terms, which is $22.55 lower than last week. Another 120,000 tons of wheat of Romanian origin was booked by Egypt for September 1-10 at a price of $247.6 per ton on C&F terms. This is $22.05 less than June 11.

Also, GASC purchased 60,000 tons of Ukrainian wheat for delivery on September 1-10 at a price of $247.6 per ton, which is $22.05 cheaper than a week ago.

As USM previously wrote, Egypt also had  to buy Russian wheat due to the economic crisis.
