From February 20, Japan and the G7 countries plan to tighten the rules on limiting prices for imports of Russian oil.
In October 2023, the average price of Russian oil by sea was $80 per barrel.
The United States imposed sanctions on Turkish shipping companies, as well as vessels that violated the “price ceiling” for Russian oil.
The USA plans to react to the violation of the price limit on energy carriers from the Russian Federation.
The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine wants to further reduce the “ceiling” of prices for Russian oil – to $45 or $30 per barrel.
The price of russian Urals oil on the world market is approaching the $60 mark. At the same time, as of April 6, the price of Rosneft exports to India, including shipping costs, was more than $73 per barrel.
Estonia, Lithuania and Poland proposed lowering the limit to $51.45 per barrel in order to further reduce the financing of the russian military industry.
India buys oil from russia much cheaper than the “price ceiling” implemented by the G7 countries.
The European Commission said that Rosneft’s price cap of $60 per barrel “proved to be effective” against the Kremlin’s war machine. There are no plans to lower the price ceiling in the near future.
