Australia has strengthened sanctions against Russia ahead of the fourth anniversary of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The new sanctions apply to 225 captains of the so-called “shadow fleet” who were involved in the export of Russian oil and petroleum products from the ports of the aggressor state.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has published information on 31 vessels involved in the transportation of oil and gas from the Russian Federation.

Currently, ships around the world are transporting 290 million barrels of Russian and Iranian oil under sanctions.
