The Crimean Bridge is losing its strategic role: the occupiers are developing alternative logistics

The invaders are actively developing transport infrastructure in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, which reduces dependence on the Crimean Bridge.

The logistical role of the Kerch Bridge for the Russian invaders is gradually decreasing. This was stated by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmitry Pletenchuk, according to Ukrinform.

“This bridge performs not only a transport function, but also has symbolic significance for the Russians. However, the occupiers are already partially solving their logistical problems by using the infrastructure in the occupied territories,” Pletenchuk noted.

According to him, the Russian Federation is actively developing a road network to provide for its military groups in southern Ukraine.

“The Russians are investing significant resources in the development of roads and transport infrastructure, which should ensure supplies for their troops. Therefore, the logistical significance of the Kerch Bridge is gradually decreasing and, most likely, this trend will continue,” the Navy spokesman emphasized.

However, despite the decline in its logistical role, Russia continues to strengthen the security of the Kerch Bridge as much as possible.

According to Pletenchuk, the occupiers are tightening the security perimeter around the bridge, using water barriers, sea guards, observation posts and air defense systems.
