The EU Council announced sanctions against another 40 vessels of the “shadow fleet”

On Monday, December 15, a decision is to be made on adding another 40 ships of the Russian “shadow fleet” to the EU sanctions list.

This was stated by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaia Kallas in the EU Council, reports “European Pravda”.

“We… will make a decision today on the ships of the “shadow fleet”. We have another 40 additional ships, as well as their equipment,” she said.

Kallas noted that these actions are being taken to “deprive Russia of the means to finance this war”.

Recently, the European Union decided to impose sanctions against the ships of the “shadow fleet” separately from the general packages of restrictions against Russia.

Earlier, USM reported that Ukraine had imposed sanctions against more than 600 ships of the Russian “shadow fleet”.
