The EU introduced sanctions against companies that supply weapons to the Russian Federation
Foreign offending companies are mostly located in Turkey, UAE and Hong Kong.
The EU introduced new sanctions against companies producing weapons for Russia. Some of these companies are located in Turkey, UAE and Hong Kong (China), Bloomberg reports.
It is noted that sanctioned companies imported prohibited European goods worth millions of euros, which were used by the Russians for the war against Ukraine.
According to the document, the imports included technology related to navigation systems for missiles, antennas, and components used in military computer tools. Most of the equipment is manufactured in the EU or the USA. Some of the companies in question were previously under US sanctions.
The EU is also considering sanctions against a small number of Chinese companies that provided Russia with satellite images and other technology.
EU countries are expected to start discussing the new sanctions package later this week.
USM recently wrote that the EU will introduce sanctions against Russian LNG exports by sea.
