The EU officially extended restrictions on the import of Ukrainian grain

The European Commission finally approved the extension of restrictions on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products to neighboring countries until September 15.

Restrictions on the import of agricultural products from Ukraine to Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria will last until September 15. At the same time, the European Commission emphasized the gradual lifting of restrictions by the specified deadline in order to improve the logistics of “solidarity routes”.

“These measures remain necessary for a limited period of time, given the logistical challenges and the limited capacity to store grain ahead of the harvest season,” the European Commission said in a statement.

At the same time, as stated in the statement, if the restrictions significantly impede the transit of Ukrainian goods, the European Commission will review the appropriateness of these measures.
