The export of sunflower oil from Ukraine approached a record

The export of sunflower oil from Ukraine is approaching record levels, thanks in particular to stable shipments by sea.

In September-April 2023/24 MR, the export of sunflower oil from Ukraine amounted to more than 4.4 million tons, reports “APK-Inform”.

This result is 17% higher than the export figure for the same period of the previous season and is the second largest export volume in history after the 2019/20 MR figure (4.49 million tons in September-April).

Analysts explained that the increase in demand for sunflower oil in the current season on the part of key global importers was facilitated by a more attractive price for this product, compared to other vegetable oils. As a result, Ukrainian factories actively increased sunflower processing.

Another important factor is the provision of relatively stable shipments of oil by sea transport.
