The government expanded financial support for farmers due to the blockade of ports

The government has adopted new decisions to support farmers amid a decline in exports due to the lack of ship calls to the ports of Great Odesa.

This was  повідомив announced by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotskyi.

Agricultural producers will be able to attract up to UAH 90 million in loans for current needs, in particular for autumn field work. The government has also distributed UAH 20.8 billion in portfolio guarantees under the “Affordable Loans 5-7-9%” program.

In addition, the National Bank has increased the collateral ratio for agricultural products from 0.4 to 0.75. This should allow farmers to attract larger amounts of financing.

By September 1, 2027, certain requirements for lending to the agricultural sector have also been relaxed, in particular regarding restructuring and assessment of financial indicators of enterprises.

Since the beginning of the year, agricultural producers have already attracted about UAH 100 billion in loans, of which UAH 45 billion is under the “5-7-9%” program.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy expects that after the new decisions come into force, the volume of additional lending may exceed UAH 5 billion per week.

At the same time, the government revised the minimum export prices to take into account the increase in the cost of alternative logistics due to the blockade of ports.
