The invaders are establishing military logistics through the port of Mariupol
The russian military use the Mariupol seaport for military logistics.
“Now the russians already use the port of Mariupol quite easily. During the entire period of occupation, they cleared the territory and water area of the port. They can accept vessels with a load of up to 20,000 tons. These are large enough ships, considering the military need,” said Petro Andryushchenko, adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, on the air of the “Espresso” TV channel.
The occupiers have the opportunity to send ships to Mariupol with military equipment or ammunition from any russian port. Such actions improve their military logistics.
According to Petro Andryushchenko, it is more important and easier for russians to carry out logistics by sea than by land routes.
“Active use of the port of Mariupol by the russians can completely change the situation with their military logistics. This especially applies to fuel and lubricants and ammunition. Because it is easier for the army to deliver needs by sea than to do it by land,” the advisor emphasized.
According to Suspilne. News, a non-self-propelled floating barrack “Kalevala” was recently spotted at the entrance to Mariupol port, which can accommodate up to 400 soldiers and up to 40 crew members. The russians brought this ship to Mariupol via Rostov. In Astrakhan, it was used as a floating military headquarters
As previously reported by USM, the invaders are bringing containers to the port of Mariupol on ships.
