The Russian Federation is increasing the volume of transshipment of oil near Egypt
Russian “shadow” tankers have established a hub for transshipment of oil near the Suez Canal.
The Russians have organized a new transshipment hub for sanctioned oil near the Suez Canal. For example, the Israeli monitoring company Windward found a 400% increase in the number of ship-to-ship operations in the region compared to 2022, Splash reports.
Due to increased attention of the world media to transshipment centers of the “shadow” fleet near Ceuta and Senegal, the volume of ship-to-ship operations in Asia has decreased by 70%. At the same time, in Rosneft transshipment centers near South Korea, Mersin (Turkey) and Malta, the number of operations increased by 37%, 33% and 28%, respectively.
We will remind, despite the fact that Malta is a member state of the EU, the country publicly opposed the 11th package of sanctions aimed at ship-to-ship operations.
