The Russians once again postponed the launch of the ammonia terminal in the port of Taman
The Russians are trying to establish their own transshipment of fertilizers on the Black Sea, but the launch of the terminal has been delayed for almost a year.
The terminal was originally supposed to become operational at the end of 2023, then its launch was postponed to the beginning of 2024. Now, as CTS writes, the ammonia export terminal will start shipping in August 2024.
The publication notes that the first vessel should arrive at the terminal in the same month, and by the end of the year, the Russian Federation plans to transfer about 500,000 tons of cargo. The Russians claim that the terminal, designed for a capacity of 2 million tons/year, will be launched in December 2023.
It will be recalled that before the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the main route for the export of Russian ammonia was the Tolyatti-Odesa pipeline. An average of 2.5 million tons of ammonia per year was pumped through it.
As previously reported by USM, the Russian Federation planned that the terminal in the port of Taman on the Black Sea would start the first shipments in early 2024.
