The Shipping Administration has started the certification of ordinary sailors

The Shipping Administration begins the certification of sailors of the rank and file, after the Ministry approves the restoration of the corresponding order.

Now the sailors of the ordinary crew of ships will also be able to obtain qualification documents, the Ministry of Reconstruction reported.

This became possible after the approval of order No. 784 dated 05.09.2023 “Some issues of certification of members of the rank-and-file crew members of sea vessels”.

Thus, ordinary members can already submit an application and the necessary package of documents and receive specialist certificates:

• shift sailor;

• qualified sailor;

• shift motorist;

• a qualified motorist;

• ship electrician;

• a ship’s cook;

• boatswain.

In order to obtain documents, it is necessary to contact the Shipping Administration or Morrichservice and submit an application together with all the necessary package of documents in paper form. This can be done in person, through a representative or by registered mail. Sailors will also soon be able to submit a relevant application through the Diya portal.

Since the beginning of the year, sailors of the crew are already confirming/upgrading their qualifications/ranks according to the new procedure in the Shipping Administration. Today, according to the new procedure, 20,000 team members have received graduation services. More than 7,000 sailors submitted an application online using the Diya portal.
