The State Investigation Bureau detained an official of the State Fisheries Agency who was trying to make money by repairing patrol boats

The State Investigation Bureau has exposed an official, because of which the patrol boats necessary for the protection of the country were not repaired on time. Boats remained malfunctioning for more than half a year of the war.

A former official of the State Agency for Land Reclamation and Fisheries, circumventing the established procurement procedure, entered into four agreements for the maintenance of engines on patrol boats of the State Agency, the State Investigation Bureau noted.

According to the investigators, the contracts were signed with a familiar businessman. The official instructed his subordinate to “break” the deals into small amounts so as not to fall under the control of electronic government bidding. The attacker did not even wait for the execution of the engine service contract. He immediately signed the acts of completed works without their actual execution

According to the official’s instructions, UAH 170,000 was transferred to the private company’s account, but no more than 10% of the engine repair work was completed. As a result, the patrol boats necessary for the defense of the country stood without repair for more than half a year of the war. In October 2022, they were repaired at the expense of volunteers.
