The UDS will send exports through the Danube bypassing the border with Poland

The Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company has sent offers to the largest road freight forwarders.

In connection with the blocking of the western border, the company proposed to redirect the goods transported to EU countries by trucks to river transport, the UDS reported.

UDS has developed three lines for barge caravans.

• Ukraine – Galati

The fastest route for transferring cargo across the western border to EU countries. Given the long distance, the river caravan can make 5-7 trips to Galati per month. Therefore, the delivery time of the containers is only a few days.

• Ukraine – Regensburg

The route allows you to deliver the cargo to Germany, to the closest point to the main market for the consumption of Ukrainian exports. Or to any port on the Middle and Upper Danube. But the duration of the flight is longer than in the case of delivery to Galati.

• Ukraine – Constanta

Delivery of cargo to one of the largest European seaports, with the possibility of further export to any point in the world.

The shipping company plans to deploy additional barge caravans on container lines, which will deliver 2.1 thousand TEU to Regensburg (Germany) or 5.9 thousand TEU to Constanta (Romania) every month.

UDS can work with TEU/FEU containers, as well as ref containers. Therefore, river transportation only by the UDS fleet is an alternative to 2-5 thousand trucks.

Previously, USM reported that the UDS had renamed vessels, that have Russian names, focusing on the Ukrainian cities under occupation.
