The US called on Ukraine to stop attacks on Russian energy infrastructure, including ports, as this could trigger an increase in global oil prices.

This is reported by the Financial Times with reference to its own sources in the US government. Thus, one of the interlocutors of the publication said that the White House is concerned about “brazen attacks by Ukrainian drones” that hit Russian refineries, terminals and warehouses.

Washington is also concerned that due to Ukraine’s attacks on Russian facilities, the Russian Federation may retaliate by attacking energy infrastructure that the West relies on. This refers to the CPC pipeline, which transports oil from Kazakhstan through Russia to the world market. It is used by Western companies, including ExxonMobil and Chevron.

According to the publication, the USA has already issued a warning to the Defense Intelligence and SBU.

As USM previously reported, as a result of Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian refineries, about 600,000 barrels per day of Russia’s oil refining capacity were disabled.

Sea exports of petroleum products from Russia also fell in February. The indicators were affected by unplanned repairs of oil refineries (refineries).
