The vessels under Turkish flag will continue to export Ukrainian grain

The vessels under the Turkish flag will continue to export Ukrainian grain. As part of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, they have no problems leaving the ports of Ukraine.

“As of yesterday, ships that left Ukrainian ports continue their journey. There are no problems with the departure of ships under the Turkish flag. They will continue to move,” Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said.

Akar noted that more than 10 million tons of food have already been exported from the ports of Ukraine. The minister also added that Turkey will continue to make efforts to make the “grain corridor” work.

“We can all see that if it remains like this, if the transportation of grain stops, as a result, events can lead to serious problems of hunger in developing countries, to rising prices and deterioration of political stability. Immediately after the signing of the agreement, there was a serious drop in grain prices, which eased the situation. We want it to continue in the same direction,” the Turkish minister emphasized.

Akar emphasized that the shipment of grain should be separated from the battlefield, then the current incident would be easier to resolve.

“The grain mechanism has a peculiarity in terms of opening the way to peace. In addition to grain supplies, this is a good example of how the parties can resolve certain issues through negotiations. With the use of this model, we sincerely wish that the way to a ceasefire and peace will be opened in the coming days, and that this conflict between our two neighboring countries on the Black Sea will be ended by peaceful means and methods,” concluded the Turkish Defense Minister.
