The volume of railway transportation in Ukraine increased by almost half

In June, the volume of freight transportation by railway in Ukraine increased by 45.7%.
During the two weeks of June, the volume of railway transportation in Ukraine increased by 45.7%, compared to the same period a year ago. At the same time, this indicator is 12% higher than the volume of freight turnover for the first half of May, the press center of “Ukrzaliznytsia” reported.
The average daily load also increased by 26.2%, or up to 390.4 thousand tons. Export transportation increased to 2.191 million tons — by 19.5%, compared to May.
Transportation of grain cargoes for the first half of June amounted to 1.106 million tons. Grain transportation volumes increased by 71.2% compared to the same period in 2022 and by 24% compared to May 2023.
Grain export shipments from June 1 to June 15, 2023 amounted to 849.9 thousand tons, which is 2.3 times more than last year and 54.3% more than in the first half of May of the current year.
