The water level in the Kakhovskyi reservoir continues to decrease

As of the morning of June 9, the level of the Kakhovskyi reservoir in the Nikopol area is 11.74 meters.

Over the course of the day, the water level in the Kakhovskyi Reservoir dropped by another meter. And since the morning of June 6, the water level has dropped by a total of 4.7 meters, Ukrhydroenergo  зазначили noted.

The department noted that most of the station building is under water. The earthen insert between the lock and the station is also already under water and continues to collapse.

“Hydroelectric power stations of Ukrhydroenergo continue to accumulate water as much as possible in the upper reservoirs of the Dnipro. This is necessary in order to have a summer reserve for ecological passes after the Kakhovskyi Reservoir is out of operation,” Ukrhydroenergo added.

During the night, the water on the right bank of the Kherson region fell by 20 centimeters, but still remains at the mark of 5.38 m. As reported by the head of the Kherson regional military administration Oleksandr Prokudin, almost 2.5 thousand people were evacuated from the region as of this morning.

We will remind you that on the night of June 6, the Russian invaders blew up the Kakhovska HPP. The disaster has already caused tragic consequences in the form of water pollution, a sea of fish and the flooding of the Kherson region. In the occupied territory of the region, people are not evacuated, because of which several deaths are already known.
