The wreckage of Russian tankers has still not been raised from the bottom: a new oil slick has been discovered in the Black Sea

A new large-scale oil spill of 900 tons has been discovered in the Black Sea off the coast of the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation.

The oil spill is moving towards the coast of Taman and Temryuk, writes the Bukvi media.

According to Russian media, it is about 900 tons of oil products approaching the coast of Kuban and Anapa. The detected oil spill probably occurred after the accident of Russian tankers in December 2024.

In particular, in early October, new pollution with oil products was recorded near Anapa. It is noted that the new oil spill may be larger than the previous one.

In turn, the Center for Countering Disinformation повідомляє reports that the Russian authorities are again pretending that everything is under control, when the situation in the Kerch Strait is deteriorating. The storm season is currently underway, and oil masses are actively being brought ashore.

“The governor of the region says that “nothing needs to be done, we just need to clean it up.” This is the entire “liquidation” of the consequences. At the same time, the wreckage of the tankers has not yet been raised from the seabed, that is, the source of the leak has not even been tried to be eliminated. Pollution is recorded near Anapa, but it is not excluded that the Crimean coast will again suffer from new fuel oil emissions,” the Central Disaster and Emergency Management Agency emphasized.

Recall that last year, on the morning of December 15, two Russian tankers, Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239, crashed in the Kerch Strait. Due to strong waves, the hulls of the vessels broke in half, which led to the leakage of fuel oil into the water.
