They want to revise the concession agreement regarding the port of Giurgiulesti

The government of Moldova plans to revise the concession agreement regarding the port of Giurgiulesti.

This was stated by the Minister of Infrastructure of Moldova Andrii Spinu, writes APC-Inform.

According to him, such plans are conditioned by the fact that the document contains provisions that should be abandoned.

“What does the state want? In this complex there are two ports – the state port and the Danube, which belongs to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The state has two goals: to develop the state port, because it is poorly developed, and we announced the start of the implementation of this project. The goal is for us to invest up to 40 million euros in the next 4-5 years,” explained Andriy Spinu.

Regarding the Danube port concession, the government’s aim is to review this contract.

“And change its terms or transfer it to a company that we can analyze with lawyers and abandon the illegal terms in this concession agreement. Currently, this issue is being discussed with the EBRD,” the official emphasized.
