“Moldova Railways” is considering the possibility of extending the track directly to the territory of the state port of Giurgiuleşti.

Currently, traffic through the international checkpoint “Vynohradivka” is completely suspended, and transport is being redirected to other checkpoints.

In the first 20 days of August, Moldovan Railways transported 15.7 thousand tons of agricultural cargo in transit.

Ukrainian grain is transported in Ukrainian wagons, so its transit does not limit Moldovan farmers’ access to the wagon fleet.

The negotiations will take place against the backdrop of the union’s statements about possible mass protests if the authorities do not propose a solution to organize transportation.

The railway route through Moldova can ensure the export of 500 to 800 thousand tons of Ukrainian agricultural products per month.

Moldovan farmers have opposed the government’s decision to reduce rail transit tariffs for Ukrainian goods to Constanta by 50% and are allowing mass protests.
