Three tankers linked to Russia damaged in the Mediterranean in a month

At least three tankers calling at Russian ports in the past month have been damaged by explosions.

This is reported by Reuters.

All three tankers were damaged by explosions. The Seajewel, operated by Athens-based Thenamaris, exploded in northern Italy on the night of February 14-15. Another explosion occurred 20 minutes later on the same vessel, but did not cause any damage.

Another vessel operated by Thenamaris, the Seacharm, was also damaged by an explosion near the Turkish port of Ceyhan in late January.

In February, the Liberian-flagged Grace Ferrum, operated by the Cypriot company Cymare, was damaged off the coast of Libya. The vessel has been uncontrollable since the incident.

According to Reuters, all three vessels have recently called at Russian ports.

USM previously reported that two explosions were heard on the Seajewel tanker moored in the city of Savona.
