UCAB: grain transit across the Polish border has halved
Since the beginning of 2024, the transit of Ukrainian grain across the Polish border has halved.
The general director of the Ukrainian Club of Agrarian Business (UCAB) Oleg Khomenko said this in a comment to Ukrinform.
“As for western crossings, at the peak in January 2023, a little more than 0.5 million tons of grain and oilseeds passed through the Polish border per month, already in 2024 this figure was 240,000 tons – a drop in half,” said Khomenko.
He also emphasized that currently 95% of grain exports now take place through deep-sea ports, which is traditional for Ukraine.

As previously reported by USM, in January the export of Ukrainian agricultural products took place mainly through the sea corridor and amounted to 6.7 million tons. Instead, only 0.37 million tons passed through the territory of Poland in transit.
