Ukraine and Estonia will mutually recognize sailors’ diplomas


Representatives of Ukraine and Estonia signed an interdepartmental agreement on mutual recognition of seafarers’ qualification documents.

Ukraine and Estonia signed the Memorandum on mutual recognition of specialist certificates and diplomas of seafarers. This was announced by the head of the Shipping Administration, Yevhenii Ignatenko.

The interdepartmental agreement provides an opportunity to receive confirmation of the qualification documents of sailors of both countries for employment on ships flying the flag of Ukraine and Estonia.

The signing of the agreement was initiated by the Director General of the Transport Administration of Estonia Priit Sauk in June 2024. The completion of the document signing procedure took place at the Embassy of the Republic of Estonia in Ukraine with the participation of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Anneli Kolk.

Previously, USM wrote that the list of titles for Ukrainian sailors will be expanded on the Diya public services portal.
