Ukraine and Poland plan joint development of water transport


The parties discussed joint projects for the development of water transport as a key element of post-war reconstruction.

Within the framework of the Ukrainian-Polish dialogue on post-war reconstruction, working group meetings were held with the participation of representatives of the governments of both countries and business. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Development.

Particular attention was paid to the development of sea and river transport, which is considered one of the key factors in strengthening economic cooperation and effective logistics between Ukraine and Poland.

During the discussions in the working group on transport and logistics cooperation, the modernization of port infrastructure, the development of river navigation, as well as the prospects for strengthening sea routes were discussed.

The participants emphasized the importance of sea transport for optimizing cargo flows, unloading road and rail crossings, and reducing logistics costs.

The issues of modernization of border checkpoints, improvement of railway connections and possibility of opening of airspace of Ukraine were also considered. At the same time, the parties agreed on further exchange of project initiatives and joint planning of the next practical steps in development of water transport.
