Ukraine and Romania agree on the construction of a bridge across the Danube near Orlivka

Representatives of both countries discussed the construction of a bridge across the Danube near the Orlivka checkpoint.
This was reported by the State Agency for Reconstruction and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine.
A bilateral meeting with a Romanian delegation was held in Chernivtsi with the participation of representatives of the Reconstruction Agency, the Ministry of Development and regional state administrations.
The topic of the discussions was cooperation between the countries in the field of border infrastructure development.
In particular, the parties discussed the issue of building a bridge across the Danube near the Orlivka checkpoint and access roads, provided for by the joint Strategy for the Development of Border Checkpoints on the Romanian-Ukrainian Border and the Nearby Road Infrastructure. This is part of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of Romania on Strengthening Cooperation in Ensuring the Reliable Transit of Ukrainian Goods, signed in 2023.
Also during the meeting, the construction of a bridge across the Tisza River between the checkpoints of Bila Tserkva (Ukraine) and Sighetu Marmației (Romania) and the checkpoint itself were discussed.
